A Cure for the King (2019)

A Cure for the King (2019)
The Illustration is based on an old Indian folktale known as "A Cure for the King" and is based on the Art style of the Comic Book Series "Lumberjanes" (2014-2020) by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Brooklyn A. Allen and Noelle Stevenson.
The Folktale the Artwork is based on is as follows
"The King is said to be a Hypochondriac who can't ever be cured by any medicine until a traveler from afar tells him to only take his medicine if he stops thinking about elephants. However, the King does exactly the opposite as the traveler had advised him to do and keeps thinking about elephants and thus refuses to take the medicine, The King gets so busy having his head tormented with the thought of elephants, he stops thinking about feeling sick and thus, stops feeling like he is sick. On realizing this, the traveler is rewarded and the King lives on with his hypochondriac habits put to a stop."

The Story was dissected into 6 Major Story Beats as depicted below.
A  mini mood board was developed for each Story Beat that would be illustrated later on. The Mood boards are as follows.
Each Story Beat was then Illustrated in the form of 5 Still Images describing the Beat's Narrative.

"Beat 1: A Worrisome hypochondriac King lived claiming to have an illness that could not be cured by anything or anyone. "
"Beat 2: Many Great Doctors and Physicians from Far away Lands come to the Kingdom to treat the King off his illness but are unable to suceed"
"Beat 3: A Foreign stranger from a far off Kingdom visits the King to present him with a medicine that will cure him off an illness provided he follows the condition that he does not have thoughts about Elephants on that day"
"Beat 4: The King accepts the medicine but cannot stop thinking of Elephants on the day he chooses to drink the medicine."
"Beat 6: The King stopped his hypochondriac habit after rewarding the Foreigner with a Bag of Gold coins for helping him with his 'disease' "
